What is Ezda
Ezda Music Group, is a musical ensemble based in Sharya – Duhok, founded in 2024. We are distinguished by our unique sound that blends traditional Kurdish music with cultural elements, with a special focus on Yazidi musical heritage. Driven by a passion for authenticity and creativity, we are committed to reviving and renewing our rich musical traditions in a way that resonates deeply with our audience. Our journey began when a group of friends who shared a deep love for music decided to come together and form a group that reflects the talents of our youth.
We wanted to show our community that there are gifted individuals striving to achieve their dreams through heartfelt performances on their instruments. After countless hours of practice, songwriting, and musical exploration, we realized we had something truly special. Since our inception, we have worked on music projects inspired by our heritage, creating our own melodies — and now we are proudly ready to share them with the world.
What sets Ezda Music Group apart is the diversity and talent of our young members. Each one plays multiple instruments, such as the (piano, guitar, oud, saz, daf, violin, percussion, and vocal harmonies). This variety creates a vibrant and innovative soundscape that combines tradition with modernity. Our lyrics often reflect issues within our community, addressing topics relevant to educated youth and music lovers of all ages. Through our songs, we aim to tell stories that matter.
We aim to develop the talents of our members and create something meaningful through music for our people who suffered in this areas perhaps we keep our identity safe by our traditional music that was taken by others. By contributing to the growth of our folkloric music and filling the gap left by the absence of other musical groups in our area, we hope to be the first to envision a bright musical future for our community. We are committed to educating others about music, with a focus on the psychological and social dynamics of our society. Through our work, we aspire to bring joy, inspiration, and pride to our people.
our goal
Our goal is to harness the power of music as a means of healing, education, and cultural preservation within our community. We are deeply committed to teaching music to children, especially those who have been rescued from ISIS, offering them a safe and supportive environment where they can express themselves, rebuild confidence, and find hope after the hardships they have endured. Through music, we aim to help these children reconnect with a sense of normalcy, creativity, and emotional well-being.
At the same time, we strive to serve our wider community by promoting and preserving our rich cultural music heritage. By sharing traditional melodies, instruments, and musical knowledge, we ensure that our identity and history remain alive and meaningful for future generations. We believe that music plays a vital role in strengthening cultural pride and unity among our people.
In addition, we are working to establish and expand accessible music courses for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. These courses are designed not only to teach musical skills but also to create opportunities for personal growth, artistic expression, and community connection. By opening doors to music education, we hope to inspire talent, nurture creativity, and empower our community to build a stronger, more vibrant future together.
